Zinc Up Your Love Life
I have been telling my coaching clients for a while that zinc is great for the production of sperm. While that is great for having of children (especially for older men) and for having one of those porn star level nuts, there is a lot more to it.
Our bodies do not make zinc, so we have to get it through the foods we eat. Since it is a mineral that is abundant in the earth’s crust, it can be found naturally in most of our foods. Four ounces (113 grams) of lean beef provide half the daily recommendation; oysters are another good source. Zinc is also abundant in turkey, cereals and beans.
The human body doesn’t store it naturally, so it’s important to make sure you get enough in your daily diet. The recommended daily allowance for men is 11 milligrams
This is one mineral you want to make sure is a part of your daily supplement routine. It is vital to a whole host of health issues for men along with testosterone production and penis enlargement.
Here are my top 7 sexual health reasons for paying attention to it…
1) Testosterone Pump
The National Institute for Health did studies to see the connection between zinc and testosterone. They pointed out that low levels are rampant all over the world and the US leading to low levels of testosterone output in men. The study of men ages 20 to 80 showed a significant relationship between zinc supplementation and testosterone levels.
2) Penis Enlargement
Zinc is present in all body tissues and fluids including penile tissues and semen. Zinc plays a crucial role in the process of protein synthesis and cellular growth of the penis. Therefore, proper supply of zinc results in increase in thickness and length of the penis.
3) Baby Making
Zinc is essential to sperm production, and most men can blame decreased semen volume and testosterone levels on low zinc supplies. In fact, each ejaculation can expend up to 5 milligrams of zinc, or almost half of a man’s daily allowance. So if you’re getting ready to start a family, a little extra zinc could help boost your baby making power.
4) Prostate Cancer Dodging
This mineral plays an important role in maintaining and improving prostate health. Recently, scientists at Johns Hopkins University found that cancerous prostate tissue contains significantly less zinc than healthy organ tissue.
While zinc is found in every organ, tissue and cell in the human body, in males, the prostate has more zinc than any other tissue except bone.
5) Hangover Reduction
Studies show that low zinc levels in adults can be related to alcohol-induced liver damage. Supplemental zinc, however, can help reduce that damage, in part because it promotes the enzymes that dissipate alcohol.
Similarly, alcohol consumption can drive down the zinc levels in the thyroid, which can result in a host of medical issues, including low thyroid performance leading to weight gain.
6) Stop Having Teenage Acne
It may help to treat and prevent acne. In fact, some forms of acne may even be caused by a zinc deficiency. Whether it’s taken as a supplement or applied in a topical ointment , zinc can help acne heal faster, reduce inflammation and help regulate the skin’s oiliness.
7) Make Your Workouts Count
The more active we are — whether at work, in the gym or in the yard — the more stress we put on our muscular-skeletal system. Coincidentally, most of our personal stores of zinc are found in our muscles, where its role in cell building and repair is particularly useful after strenuous activities.
While at rest, our muscles grow back bigger and stronger. Zinc is a key component in this process, from providing proper structure to cells and proteins to helping us get the rest that the process requires.
There Is A Dark Side
Too much zinc — in the form of supplements — can actually hamper your immune system. It is recommended getting most of your zinc through normal diet, aiming for between 15 and 25 milligrams a day. Oysters contain a lot of zinc (76.7 milligrams in just six medium oysters), so eat and enjoy!
Excessive doses of zinc can lead to nausea, vomiting, appetite loss, abdominal cramps, diarrhea and headaches. Men should try to keep their zinc intake under 40 milligrams a day, unless your doctor recommends taking more to treat a specific condition.
According to research at WebMD, consuming more than 100 milligrams of supplemental zinc daily, or taking supplemental zinc for more than 10 years, doubles your risk of developing prostate cancer.
You should also avoid taking a separate zinc supplement in addition to a daily multivitamin.
For Us Guys Who Are getting Older
(That Would Be You)
As men get older, they tend to exercise less and their diets change as well, often causing them to fall short of the recommended daily allowance of zinc. Men who don’t have significant levels of zinc in their diets tend to have higher instances of enlarged prostate.
Not getting enough zinc can lead to sudden hair loss. Alopecia can present itself in a variety of ways — from minimal hair thinning to complete baldness — and it can pop up due to heredity or result from certain mineral deficiencies. Zinc can encourage hair growth by improving immune system function.
Zinc increases the number of infection-fighting T-cells, especially in elderly people who are often deficient in zinc and whose immune system may weaken with age. Our bodies produce molecules that can damage cells, called free radicals. Antioxidants such as zinc help neutralize these potentially dangerous free radicals.
Sex Is Better When You Can See
One of the unavoidable realities of the aging process is fading eyesight. A National Eye Institute study showed that taking high doses of the antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-carotene, along with zinc, may slow eye sight loss.
Zinc is the perfect companion for African Fly to help promote testosterone production and the laundry list of health benefits that come with it. Called “the ultimate sex mineral” by Men’s Health magazine, zinc influences a man’s fertility, potency, sex drive and long-term sexual health.
Add zinc into your supplement line up but don’t go overboard. The best way to get bigger and have better sex is to be healthy and this is one more weapon in your arsenal.
